Duties and Responsibilities of the President and Vice President of EHMCC

The President and Vice President play pivotal roles in the leadership and operations of EHMCC. Together, they provide strategic direction, maintain harmony within the community, and ensure the efficient functioning of the organization while promoting its progress and development.

Position: President

The President serves as the primary figurehead and leader of the organization, ensuring its activities align with its charitable objectives and community needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide visionary leadership in line with the organization’s policies and objectives.
  • Use knowledge, skills, and experience to guide the organization toward achieving its charitable goals.
  • Represent the interests of all committee members and act as an ambassador for EHMCC.

Governance and Oversight

  • Lead and direct the executive committee to ensure efficient administration of the organization’s affairs.
  • Chair committee meetings as needed, ensuring productive discussions and decision-making.
  • Make decisions fairly and without bias, ensuring the organization’s objectives and principles guide all actions.
  • Authorize payments and oversee financial decisions in consultation with the Treasurer.

Volunteer Protection and Support

  • Protect volunteers from undue external pressures and ensure they can perform their duties in a supportive environment.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere, ensuring volunteers feel valued and respected.

Community Engagement

  • Foster good public relations and promote harmony within the Hindu community.
  • Represent the Mandir at public events, acting as a spokesperson for EHMCC.
  • Engage with guests and school visits, promoting the organization’s values and mission.

Operational Support

  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Mandir, providing support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Attend and oversee activities on Sundays and during all major festivals throughout the year.

Presence and Accessibility

  • Be present during key events, school visits, and community gatherings.
  • Attend calls and respond to requests from community members, schools, and other stakeholders.

Funding and Development

  • Take primary responsibility for identifying and securing funding from various sources, such as grants, donations, sponsorships, and community contributions.
  • Drive initiatives for the progress and development of the temple, including infrastructure improvements, new programs, and community outreach.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, and funding organizations to enhance financial sustainability.

Position: Vice President

The Vice President supports the President and acts as a deputy to ensure continuity of leadership and operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Supportive Leadership

  • Step in for the President when they are unavailable, maintaining continuity in leadership and decision-making.

  • Represent EHMCC at public events, school visits, and other engagements in place of or alongside the President.

  • Support the President in promoting good public relations and maintaining community harmony.
