I bow to the holy Mother, Maha Lakshmi, the controller of illusions, worshipped by the demigods in the sacred Shri Yantra. Holding the conch shell, mace, and discus in her hands, I revere Maha Lakshmi.
Maha Lakshmi is one of the most revered manifestations of divine feminine energy, or Shakti. She embodies prosperity and abundance and is celebrated in the Rig Veda through the Shri Sukta, a collection of hymns dedicated to her. As the consort of Shri Vishnu, Maha Lakshmi emerged during the churning of the ocean of milk at the beginning of the universe, one of fourteen auspicious blessings to arise from this cosmic event. Since then, she has been venerated by the demigods as the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and material happiness.
In this material age, wealth is essential, even for pious acts. While excess wealth can bring challenges, we seek Maha Lakshmi’s grace for blessings of pure, purposeful wealth. We pray that poverty—in mind, spirit, and body—be dispelled by her blessings, and that she may forever reside in our homes, hearts, and minds, bringing peace and prosperity.
