Śubh Akshaya Tritrīyā
Akshaya means that which never diminishes, eternal, and Tritīyā means the third day of the bright fortnight of the month. Whatever spiritual activity and acts of charity one performs on this day, the results are inexhaustible and bring unending grace and blessings.
Akshaya Tritīyā symbolizes affluence and eternal wealth. It is commonly believed that undertaking any auspicious endeavour on this day guarantees enduring success and fortune. Any venture initiated on this day is assumed to grow and bring success and prosperity and remain eternally. Observed through the purchase of gold and engaging in spiritual practices, this day symbolizes a quest for divine blessings for wealth and prosperity, achieved through acts of charity, puja, and visits to temples.
Akshaya Tritīyā is the most auspicious day of the year. The entire day is considered to be auspicious to perform any auspicious activity like a wedding ceremony, entering the New House (Griha Pravesh), etc.
On this day,
– Bhagwān Hayagriva (Horse Head & Human Body), (born from Riṣi Kaśyap & Danu Devi), appeared today to kill the demon.
– Draupadi was saved by Bhagwān Kṛṣṇa, by providing unlimited cloth, from getting disrobed by Duḥśāsana.
– Bhagwān Kṛṣṇa met his friend Sudāmā in Dwāraka. Bhagwān accepted his humble offering of chipped rice and reciprocated by giving him immense wealth and prosperity.
– Kubera, the treasurer of the demigods, worshipped and prayed to Lakshmi Devi for wealth. Sri Lakshmi Devi appeared and granted him the blessing of perpetual wealth and prosperity and custody of the treasury of the demigods and the Puṣpaka Vimāna (Airplane).
– Surya Dev gave Akshaya Pātra to Draupadi
– Brahmā began his creation
